Liverpool to delay Nike deal to ensure Premier League title win will be in New Balance jersey

Liverpool have agreed a deal with new kit partners Nike that will see the two parties defer their contract till the official beginning of the 2020/21 season. LFC’s current deal with New Balance ends on May 31, 2020 and their new one with Nike was originally due to begin on June 1, 2020.

Will Liverpool lift their first Premier League title in a Nike kit?

No, the deferment of the Nike agreement (in return for undisclosed financial compensation) ensures that if the Premier League season resumes or the Reds are crowned champions, they’ll do so in a New Balance jersey. LFC have thus chosen to meet their ethical obligations by deferring the deal.

New Balance took Liverpool to court a few months ago in order to ensure the Reds didn’t swap them for Nike, but lost the battle as the judgement went in favour of the Reds.

New Augsburg Special Edition Jersey vs Wolfsburg 16 May 2020- FCA Halt Zusammen Shirt by Nike

This is the new Augsburg special jersey 2020, a limited edition fourth shirt that will be worn by the club for their clash against VfL Wolfsburg on 16 May, 2020. The game will be Augsburg’s first ever in the Bundesliga without spectators as the league resumes after Covid-19, and to commemorate this occasion, manufacturers Nike have come up with a special kit that was officially unveiled today (May 15, 2020)

The predominantly black jersey has the words “Augsburg halt Zusammen 2020” on the front instead of the logo of traditional shirt sponsors WWK Insurance.

When the Bundesliga was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, Augsburg were 14th in the league, with 27 points from 25 games.

1907 pieces of this special black jersey (the club was founded in 1907) have been made available for sale, with 19.07% of the proceeds going to charity. Continue reading →

New AZ Alkmaar Jerseys 2020-2021 Away & Third- AZ sign five year deal with Nike to replace Under Armour

These are the new AZ Alkmaar shirts 2020/21, AZ’s new away and third kits for the upcoming Eredivisie season. The two jerseys are the first to be released as part of a new kit deal between AZ and Nike that will see the latter replace Under Armour as the club’s principal shirt partners. The AZ Alkmaar Nike contract is for a period of five years, beginning in 20/21 and till the end of the 24/25 league season. Under Armour’s contract was for a similar period, with the Maryland based firm having replaced Macron as AZ’s kit suppliers in 2015.

With AZ having finished second in the 2019/20 Eredivisie season behind Ajax when the league was cancelled due to Covid-19, it also means the Alkmaar outfit will wear Nike in the Champions League next season.

The new AZ away shirt for 2020/21 is an all blue creation modelled by Yukinari Sugawara below, while the third kit is the one worn by Calvin Stengs. AFAS remain principal shirt sponsors. Continue reading →
