This is the new AZ Alkmaar shirt 2015/16, Dutch Eredivisie outfit AZ’s new home strip for the upcoming season. Alkmaar will have a new kit partner this season in the form of Baltimore based Under Armour who have signed a “multi year” deal to replace Macron.
AZ’s current director of football is former USA midfielder Earnie Stewart while former Yankees baseball player Robert Eenhoorn is their General Director. There’s another US connection in the form of Billy Beane, who is currently serving as advisor to the club.
AZ finished third in the 2014/15 Eredivisie season behind PSV and Ajax. They secured a spot in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League.
The new AZ Alkmaar home shirt’s predominantly red with hints of white. However the lighter colour had a greater presence in the 14/15 shirt, especially in the sleeve and neck areas. Inside the back of the neck is “Samen Naar Victorie”, very familiar words for AZ supporters.
AFAS continue their association with AZ as shirt sponsors, with the Dutch ERP software firm now into their fifth year of sponsorship (they first appearing on the jerseys back in the 2010/11 season). AZ’s stadium is also called the AFAS Stadium as part of the agreement between the two parties.
Kind of what I would have expected from a jersey made from Under Armour.
The jersey is ok only bad thing I can see about this Jersey is to mutch sponsorship all over it apart from that it is not bad but not great ether to plain for me.
8 out of 10 from me for this jersey.
under the front sponser whare it says the word software
I would have liked to.have seen some kind of AZ watermark.
I like Under Armour kits, they do exactly what a football kit should do – fit players well and have the right colours, with minimal fuss and detailing. Football shirts should be like this – functional and well made.
Probably a little more white on the shirt would’ve been good.
Loads of MLB influence at AZ!
Nice kits from Under Armour, but the sponsors are very much… They should put the sponsor just on the front side on the chest
I have reservations about Under Armour. I bought their football socks and they ripped when I was putting them on. The shirts seem fine, but are plasticky and clingy. Not as bad as Kappa.
Bit flimsy.
Err……not good.
Like that.
