Cardiff City have officially announced today (January 9, 2015) that they will be switching to a blue home kit for the rest of the 2014/15 season, beginning with their upcoming fixture against Fulham. The decision was taken following a board meeting after fans met with representatives of the club.
Cardiff are currently in the Championship following relegation from the Premier League, and their attendances have significantly dwindled, with a recent FA Cup third round clash against Colchester registering the lowest ever attendance for a football game at the Cardiff City stadium (only 4,194) Continue reading
This is Cardiff City’s new third jersey 2014/2015, Cardiff City’s new second alternate strip for the current Championship season. Made by Cosway Sports, Cardiff’s new white third shirt made its debut in their recent clash away at Bournemouth.
Bournemouth usually play in red and black, and Cardiff’s alternate is blue, which is the reason many Bluebirds fans were puzzled when their team stepped out in white at Dean Court. However the explanation given was that Bournemouth’s “predominant” colour is black, and Cardiff’s officials were worried blue would clash with black, leading them to opt for a white third kit. These are the new Cardiff City kits 14/15, Cardiff’s new home and away tops for the upcoming 2014/2015 Championship season. The Bluebirds were relegated from the 2013/14 Premier League after finishing bottom of the table and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who only took over the reigns of the club in January this year, will be hoping for an immediate return to the top flight. Designed and supplied by Cosway Sports, the new Cardiff 2014/15 shirts were officially unveiled on 7 July, 2014.
The home kit controversially continues to be red while the away kit is blue, as can be seen in the pics below. The home shorts are white in colour, a departure from last season’s black. Continue reading
