This the new Columbus Crew away kit 2016, a new alternate strip for MLS outfit Columbus Crew SC. Themed as the “For Columbus” jersey, the uniform, made by Adidas hasn’t been too well received by the club’s fans on social media.

The shirt uses the Columbus city flag as its inspiration, and you can see many aspects that are influenced by it. For starters, the base colour is white, with blue and red trim on the cuffs and neck. The Adidas stripes are in red on the sides. Inside the jersey, under the team badge is the City of Columbus Seal (the city therefore, is at the “heart” of this kit”)

Crew have Federico Higuain, the brother of former Real Madrid and current Napoli striker (and often linked with Arsenal!) Gonzalo Higuain, in their ranks.

There are seventeen stars inside the necktape, same as the one present on the Columbus seal, and they also symbolise Ohio becoming the 17th state of the American union. This is the new Revolution home jersey 2016, New England Revolution’s new principal strip for the forthcoming MLS season. The Revs finished 5th in the Eastern Conference in 2015 and 10th overall and were defeated in the knockout round of the MLS Cup playoffs by D.C United

Made by Adidas, the new Revs home shirt features a design inspired by the jackets of the revolutionary war era, with a red and white bar adorning the centre of the jersey. While that’s how it’s been marketed, we can’t help but remember a similar design on the Hamburger SV top from a couple of seasons ago.

The Revolution were one of the founding clubs of Major League Soccer back in the 1990’s, and paying homage to that fact is the “Est. 1996” inside the collar. On the back of the neck is the New England flag.

This is the new Montreal Impact jersey 2016, Impact de Montreal’s new home kit for the upcoming MLS season. The club finished third in their Conference last season and beat fellow Canadian club Toronto FC in the playoffs before going down in extra time in their Conference semifinal against Columbus Crew.

IMFC’s best known player is the former Chelsea and Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba, with the Ivorian’s 11 goal tally in as many league games getting him a nomination for the best newcomer of the year award.

The new Impact home shirt, sponsored by BMO (The Bank of Montreal) is a blue and black striped creation from the Adidas stable. The necktape features the flag of the province of Quebec (where Montreal are situated), with raised metallic flower designs (including the fleur de lis) appearing on the jock tag on the lower front Continue reading →
