After four decades with Adidas, German Bundesliga club Bayer 04 will have a new kit partner next season in the form of Jako. The new Jako Bayer Leverkusen shirt deal is for an initial period of 2 years, beginning the 2016/17 season, with the option of extending it by a year built into the contract.
Jako already outfit several teams in Germany- Hannover, Darmstadt and Karlsuher SC to name a few, but Leverkusen will be their biggest club by some margin, unlike Adidas, where the Werkself were below the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern, Juventus and Manchester United in the pecking order. This was also quoted as a key reason for inking the deal by Bayer CEO Michael Stade who said, “Bayer 04 will be for Jako the clear number one among the advertisers – and not one of many”
