Leeds Adidas kit deal from the 2020/21 season? Whites to leave Kappa?

Leeds United are reportedly very close to agreeing a deal with Adidas that will see the German manufacturer become the club’s new kit manufacturer. The Whites’ current deal with Kappa expires at the end of the current 2019/20 season (5 five year signed at the beginning of the 2015/16 one).

When the club was last present in the Premier League (2004), they wore Nike. They narrowly missed out on promotion in the 2018/19 Championship season, leading the table for most of the year before falling away in the final third of the season. As high as first in Week 32, Marcelo Bielsa’s men had to settle for third spot and were eventually knocked out by Frank Lampard’s Derby in the playoffs.

Leeds are currently second in the Championship, which would mean automatic promotion to the Premier League for 2020/21, should they manage to retain their position. The Whites’ fan base, plus potential PL status, would both be attractive to Adidas, who have never previously outfitted the club.

New Boro Strip 2019-2020 | Hummel Middlesbrough FC Home Kit 19-20

This is the new Boro kit 2019/20, Middlesbrough FC’s new home shirt for the upcoming Championship season. Made by Hummel, the new MFC top was officially unveiled on 25 May, 2019 by singer James Arthur at Big Weekend.

The uniform, like Cambridge United’s Hummel kit, uses the Danish firm’s revolutionary ZeroH20 technology. Design wise, it appears to be a throwback to Boro’s shirts of the late 80’s, worn by Bruce Rioch’s side when they won promotion.

32Red remain principal sponsors of this new Middlesbrough 19/20 jersey, with Zoe’s Place appearing on the kids’ jersey. Boro finished 7th in the Championship in 2018/19, missing the playoffs by just a single point. Continue reading
