Southampton will be wearing their black third kit when they square off against Leeds United in the Championship Playoff Final at Wembley this weekend. The winner will join Leicester and Ipswich in the Premier League next season. Saints beat West Brom 3-1 at St.Mary’s while Leeds hammered Norwich 4-0 at Elland Road in the second leg of their respective semifinal ties after both first legs had ended in a goalless stalemate.
An initial 5-0 loss to Sunderland in September aside, Saints’ record in that black kit hasn’t been too bad (see league record with games below). They actually wore that kit when they travelled to Elland Road a few weeks ago and came away with a 2-1 win.
