Defender Cristian Romero will wear the No.17 jersey at Tottenham Hotspur for the 2022/23 season, the club have announced. The previous holder of the 17 shirt was Moussa Sissoko, who was still at the club when Romero signed, and so the Argentine centre-back initially wore the No.4 jersey at Spurs.
Romero has worn the 17 shirt at all three of his previous clubs- Belgrano in his native Argentina and Genoa & Atalanta in Italy.
With Romero vacating the 4 jersey to move to 17, Oliver Skipp has now taken No.4 (he wore No.29 in the 2021/22 season)
Other famous players to have been given the 17 jersey previously at Tottenham include the likes of Eidur Gudjohnsen, Kevin Prince-Boateng & Giovani dos Santos.
And the club won’t exchange those that have already bought shirts really disgusting
