This is the new Borussia Monchengladbach home kit 2020/21, Gladbach’s new primary jersey for the upcoming Bundesliga season. Made by Puma, the new MGB shirt was officially unveiled on June 29, 2020. Die Fohlen also chose to announce their new shirt sponsor- online brokers Flatex, who take over from Postbank.
Postbank have been on the front of Gladbach’s jerseys since 2009 and were reportedly paying the club somewhere around 7 million euros. The new Flatex deal is for a period of three years (till 2023) and will see the Frankfurt based firm pay Borussia around 10 million euros a season.
Gladbach finished fourth in the 2019/20 Bundesliga season, behind champions Bayern, BVB and Leipzig, thus ensuring a spot in the group stages of the Champions League next season.
No details of the shorts and socks were released by Gladbach, but the kit is expected to go on sale later this week. It will also serve as the club’s 120th anniversary strip- Borussia were founded back in 1900, and this is indicated by the 120 Jahre words below the club badge.
Looks better than Postbank on the shirt!
Nice!
Hopelessly non descript. Where is the green and black that should be on that shirt?
