German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach have today (April 4, 2017) officially confirmed that they will be switching to Puma from Kappa beginning the 2018/19 season. The deal, worth around 8 million euros a season, is a sizeable upgrade over their current deal (3 million euros per season) and will kick in on 1 July, 2018 for a period of six years.
The 2017/18 season will therefore be Gladbach’s last with Kappa- the latter’s association with Borussia MG started back in 2013 after replacing Lotto.
Among the current German top flight teams, Puma outfit only one team- Borussia Dortmund. They were Gladbach’s official kit partners in the club’s hugely successful period between 1976 and 1992.
Gladbach have qualified for the Champions League in the last two seasons (15/16 and 16/17). They’re currently 10th in the 2016/17 Bundesliga at the time of writing.
