This is the new Whitecaps secondary kit 2016, a new alternate uniform for Canadian Major League Soccer outfit Vancouver Whitecaps. Made by Adidas, the new Whitecaps away jersey was officially revealed on February 1, 2016.
The kit takes inspiration from the city’s geography and has been named the “Sea to Sky” jersey by the club.
The shirt begins with dark blue (representing the Pacific) and transforms into sky blue as we move up (thus the theme “Sea to sky”).
The gradient design subtly incorporates mountain peaks too, not too dissimilar to the ones that show up in the city’s skyline.
Other noteworthy features are the buttons on the collar, the “Since 1974” on the lower front, the words “Our All. Our Honour” inside the back of the neck and the Canadian flag on the outer.
This new 2016 Whitecaps away top will be first seen in action against Seattle Sounders in the second fortnight of March. It will go on sale to the general public on March 1 (Caps club members can however order the jersey now)
