Stoke City have announced a new four year deal with German kit manufacturers Adidas. The Potters’ previous kit makers were Le Coq Sportif.
However the club had to change their traditional striped home design in order to agree a deal with Adidas. The stripes will still be present in the front, but we will not be seeing them at the back. However there is a clause in the deal which may see Adidas incorporating the stripes in future editions.
Stoke CEO Tony Scholes said that the deal was a sign of the progress the club had made in recent years.
Gavin Thomson, Sales Director, Adidas UK and Ireland had this to say,
“Adidas is delighted to be partnering with Stoke City Football Club. Stoke City has a rich heritage and a strong and ambitious future in the Premier League. We look forward to a very rewarding and successful relationship for both parties.”
Stoke’s home kit will be released on May 2, 2010 at the Player of the Year 2010 Stadium Show ( Between 5 and 8 pm), while the away strip will be released in August.
