Magners Celtic Kit Sponsorship deal 2013- Cider brand to replace Tennent’s as shirt sponsors

Celtic FC have announced today ( January 9, 2013) that cider brand Magners will be their official shirt sponsor beginning the 2013/14 season. Magners will replace Tennent’s lager, who have been the club’s kit sponsors since 2010. Magners, who used to sponsor the ertswhile Celtic League ( rugby competition now known as the Rabodirect Pro12), have inked a three year sponsorship deal with the Hoops.

Magners will therefore be the name that appears on the front of this leaked Celtic top for the 13/14 season.

The announcement of Magners as Celtic’s new kit sponsors means that the club will no longer have the same sponsors as bitter rivals Rangers. The two clubs have had the same jersey sponsors since 1999 ( NTL/Carling/Tennent’s).

However Magners and Tennent’s are both brands owned by the C&C Group, meaning that the two clubs still share a link.

The Magners sponsorship deal is believed to an improvement on the deal signed with Tennent’s Lager, although exact financial details were not revealed.
