Here is a look at the new Irish League Select XI 2012 jersey, the playing kit for the Irish League Select XI when they take on Manchester United in the Harry Gregg Testimonal Match at Windsor Park, Belfast on 15 May, 2012. This special Irish League select jersey has been made and sponsored by kit giants Umbro.
The Irish League Select XI will be managed by David Jeffrey and current Sunderland AFC boss Martin O’Neill. Sir Alex Ferguson has promised to send a strong team to this fixture, despite the fact that it falls barely 48 hours after United’s final league game of the 2011/12 Premier League season against the Black Cats.
Northern Ireland stopper Harry Gregg played for Man Utd between 1957 and 1966 and is widely regarded as one of the best keepers the Red Devils have ever had. He was Goalkeeper of the tournament at the 1958 World Cup, ahead of the legendary Lev Yashin.
The bulk of the Irish League select XI has been drawn from Linfield and Cliftonville and the kit features a predominantly green body with white sleeves, as can be seen in the pics below.
