Brentford’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth was a bit of a special one for the Bees- their first ever league triumph in the blue alternate shirt. It was also the last time Brentford were wearing the kit, which has served as an alternate uniform for both the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.
For 2023/24, Brentford were winless in six games with the blue kit (drawn 1, lost 5) until this last minute triumph against the Cherries over the weekend. Yoane Wissa scored in the 95th minute for the visitors as they edged this GW37 clash 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium. AFCB, like Brentford, are wearing Umbro in 23/24.
Brentford Premier League games with blue shirt in 23/24 and their record in it
Newcastle 1-0 Brentford (Lost)
Liverpool 3-0 Brentford (Lost)
Crystal Palace 3-1 Brentford (Lost)
West Ham 4-2 Brentford (Lost)
Burnley 2-1 Brentford (Lost)
Aston Villa 3-3 Brentford (Drawn)
Bournemouth 1-2 Brentford (Won)
Interestingly. the Bees also didn’t win a single league game in the kit in 22/23- they wore it six times last season (v Arsenal, Bournemouth, Palace, Liverpool, Man Utd & Newcastle). Three of those six matches ended in defeat, with the other three being drawn.
Brentford will conclude their league engagements this season with a home game against NUFC this weekend.
