Southampton will be wearing their yellow and blue away kit when they lock horns against Aston Villa later today afternoon. Saints had sought to wear the kit (which has the same colours as the Ukrainian flag) for their FA Cup midweek fixture against West Ham, but that was not possible, and they will instead don it at Villa Park against Steven Gerrard’s men.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side are not the only club to be expressing solidarity with the Ukrainians this weekend- Brighton will also be seen in a yellow and blue strip against Newcastle United.

Southampton had worn a white sash kit for their last trip to Villa Park- they won 4-3 on that occasion.
