Liverpool will be giving their third kit its Champions League debut when they square off against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League later tonight. The yellow shirt has been worn only once by the Reds previously this season- in the 3-3 draw against Brentford in GW6 back in September before the international break.
Liverpool currently lead their group, having beaten both AC Milan and Porto on the previous two Match Days. They wore their home kit on both occasions.
Atleti had themselves given their blue third kit a debut in their last UCL game away at Milan.
Diego Simeone’s men beat Liverpool in the Round of 16 of the 2019/20 Champions League season, winning 1-0 at home and 3-2 away just before the pandemic struck world football. Jurgen Klopp’s men had worn their third kit on that trip to the Spanish capital as well.
