Spanish giants Barcelona will wear their special Senyera kit (red and yellow) for their Champions League clash against Portuguese outfit Benfica tonight in Lisbon.
The Blaugrana had worn their third shirt in their UCL group stage opener against Bayern a fortnight ago, a fixture they lost 3-0. SLB, on the other hand, drew 0-0 with Dinamo Kyiv in their opening fixture.
Ronald Koeman’s men wore this Senyera uniform when they won their last title- the 4-0 Copa del Rey final win over Athletic Bilbao in which Lionel Messi played a starring role. The Senyera kit is an old uniform and technically not part of Barca’s three official shirts released for the 2021/22 campaign.
Barca’s La Liga rivals Atleti debuted their blue third kit last night in Milan in the UCL, a fixture they won 2-1.
The Catalan giants’ last Champions League trip to Benfica came back in 2012- they won 2-0 and wore their home strip on that occasion against SLB.
Are Barca going to attempt to go through the UCL group games without wearing their home kit? 😛
Okay,we just need win
