League One outfit Sunderland have announced a new shirt deal with Nike that will see the latter replace Adidas as the club’s official kit partners beginning the 2020/21 season. The official duration of the deal was not revealed, but SAFC announced that it was a “multi-year” one. The deal will be serviced for Nike by Just Sport.
Sunderland last wore Nike back in the 2003-04 season. Since then, they’ve had Diadora, Lonsdale, Umbro and Adidas as kit partners. The Adidas SAFC deal began in 2012 and has lasted eight years.
The Black Cats are currently 5th in League One at the time of writing and will be hoping to return to the Championship after losing the playoff final last year to Charlton.
Sunderland with Nike isn’t too bad, but Just Sport in the picture almost inevitably means template kits.
