AFC Bournemouth have inked a new deal with Umbro that will see the Double Diamond replace JD Sport as the club’ official kit partners. The contract, inked for an initial period of five years beginning the 2017/18 season, is a club record one, with the first Umbro made strip set to be revealed by the club in June this year.
To celebrate the deal, a sand sculpture featuring both the AFCB and Umbro logos was created by SandWorld artists Mark Anderson and David Hicks.
In the 2016/17 Premier League season, Umbro supplied kits to Everton, Hull and West Ham United.
At the time of writing, Bournemouth seem to have done enough to guarantee top flight football for another season- they are seven points ahead of third from bottom Swansea with four games to play. Their tally of 49 goals scored so far is the best for any side outside the top 7.
The likes of Simon Francis and Eddie Howe were present at the kit announcement.
Last time Bournemouth wore Umbro was in 1986. I love it whenever Umbro gets a new contract (especially from N*ke :D). Here’s hoping more teams will be wearing the double diamond in 17/18!
