New Everton Umbro Kit Deal- Everton sign five year shirt partnership with Umbro

Everton have signed a new deal with Umbro that will see them replace Nike as official kit partners from June 1, 2014. The deal is for a period of five years, runs till 2019 and was announced by Blues boss Roberto Martinez today (February 4, 2014).

Umbro were Everton’s kit partners for various periods in the last four decades and were associated with them as recently back as 2009, when the club chose to part ways in favour of a deal with Le Coq Sportif. Le Coq Sportif were replaced by Nike in 2012.

Umbro Marketing VP Paul Nugent has promised “smart, modern and importantly, unique kits next season” for the Toffees.

    Don’t Nike own Umbro? That’s how they transferred the Man City and England contracts in the first place, didn’t they?

    If Nike do own Umbro, not sure what the point of this deal is. Cosmetic change.
