Football Shirt Sponsorship Statistics 2014-15- Jersey sponsors in top European Leagues

Repucom have published an interesting report detailing money invested into shirt sponsorship in Europe’s top football leagues for the 2014/15 season.

The report, which features data for England, Spain, Italy, France, Germany and Holland, says that the total investment into jersey sponsorship for the 2014/15 season (across each nation’s top division) was around 687 million euros, a 20% rise over the 2013/14 season figure of 570 million. It also makes an interesting observation about the MLS, and its sponsorship in comparison to the top European Leagues.

Which football league has the highest amount of shirt sponsors (by monetary value)?

The answer is England’s Premier League, with a total of 213 million euros for the 2014/15 season, an increase of 36% over last season’s 157 million euro figure. A bulk of this 36% has been made by Manchester United’s new sponsorship deal with Chevrolet. Continue reading →

New PSV Umbro Kit Deal- PSV to leave Nike and join with Umbro from 2015/16

Eredivisie club PSV Eindhoven have inked a new sponsorship deal with Umbro that will see the latter provide kits to the Dutch giants for a period of five years beginning the 2015/16 season.

The new PSV Umbro kit deal was officially announced on 17th February, 2015 with the Dutch league leaders also revealing a training shirt designed by their new partners (which can be seen in the pic below)

New SBV Excelsior Quick Sportswear Kit Deal- Excelsior to leave Masita from 2015-16

Eredivisie club SBV Excelsior have announced that they will be wearing Quick branded clothing from the 2015/16 season. The deal brings to an end Excelsior’s current deal with Masita.

The Quick Excelsior shirt deal will be for the next four seasons. Excelsior have worn Masita since the 2005-06 season.
