New Sporting KC Away Jersey 2016- Sporting Kansas City Alternate Kit 2016 MLS

This is the new Sporting KC away shirt 2016, Sporting Kansas City’s new alternate jersey for the 2016 MLS season. Made by Adidas, the new kit was first revealed to users in an ad during Super Bowl 50, narrated by Tech N9ne. The commercial also introduced “All for the City”- the club’s new marketing slogan for the upcoming season.

The shirt sees the Adidas stripes move to the sides from the shoulders and features a Henley collar and tonal blue horizontal stripes on a dark indigo base.

The names and numbers will both be in metallic silver and there will be two stars above the crest to celebrate the club’s MLS Cup championship wins in 2000 and 2013. Continue reading

Real Madrid’s new £1bn+ kit deal with Adidas- how do the other clubs stack up?

Real Madrid are on the verge of signing a record breaking £1b+ kit deal with Adidas that dwarfs all existing deals on the park. Real’s current contract with Adidas expires only in 2020, but they’ve managed to bring the German giants to the negotiating table a good four years in advance, and have agreed a deal worth 140 million euros per year (close to £107m) per year. Over ten seasons, that amounts to well over £1 billion.

How do Real’s rivals stack up? Manchester United’s £75m/year deal (also with Adidas, negotiated in 2014 & starting from 2015-16 season) now seems to pale in comparison. Before United’s deal with Adidas, Arsenal’s £30m/season contract with Puma was the biggest kit deal in UK football.

Real’s bitter rivals Barcelona are with Nike, and earn somewhere around £24m per season (30m euros +) . However that deal was agreed in the 2007-08 season, and you can be sure that Barca will be keen for a significant hike when the deal expires at the end of the 2017-18 season. If Messrs Messi, Suarez and Neymar are still at the Nou Camp come 2017-18, then the Blaugrana have some real bargaining power at their end.

Juventus switched to Adidas at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, and their deal is worth 139.5 million euros over six seasons (approximately 24 million euros per season)

Earlier this season (April 2015), German Bayern Munich extended their contract with Adidas till 2030. The original deal was till 2020 and Bayern negotiated a 10 year extension worth 90 million euros per season Continue reading

New Philadelphia Union Jersey 2016- Philly Union Home Shirt MLS 2016

This is the new Philly Union home kit 2016, Philadelphia Union’s primary jersey for the new 2016 Major League Soccer season. The club finished second from bottom in the Eastern Conference and third last in the overall standings in 2015, and will be keen improve on last season’s poor showing.

The Adidas stripes move from the shoulder to the side, similar to what the sportswear giant has done for all its major clubs during the 2015/16 season.

The rattlesnake is a key part of the club’s crest and identity, and many parts of this new home kit pay homage to it (probably a bit too much in our opinion!) The golden centre bar on the front, for example, features a snake skin design and has the logos of kit manufacturers Adidas and club sponsors Bimbo.

Bimbo have appeared on the front of the club’s jerseys since 2011 and inked a five year contract extension in 2014 worth $2.3m a season

Fans will get to see the team wearing this uniform for the first time when Philly host New England Revolution next month (March 20). Continue reading
