This is the new DC United jersey 2016, DC United’s new principal strip for the upcoming MLS season. Made by Adidas, the new strip was officially revealed on February 6, 2016.
This is the first new jersey from D.C with the new crest following the club’s decision to opt for a branding change late last year. The eagle from the previous logo remains, but there is a change of direction, with its head now turned right instead of left. However the soccer ball and the golden star have disappeared, making way for the stars from the District of Columbia flag.
The predominantly black shirt has the traditional Adidas stripes in red, but at the sides instead of the shoulders. The back of the neck features silhouettes of U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and Jefferson Monument, all important buildings in DC’s history.
Inside the neck are the words “Taxation without Representation”, representing the D.C voting rights movement (Residents pay federal taxes but have no representation in the Congress and club coach Ben Olsen is a public supporter of the DC Vote organization)
On the lower front of the jersey, one can see the Washington, D.C flag.
The jersey will be produced in both authentic and replica versions.
The new strip will be first seen in action when D.C.United take on Colorado in their first home game of the new season.

This Jersey is a bit dull & just plain well I think the world is boring I give this jersey 4 out of 10 I am thinking adidas & D.C United need to go back & start from scratch with this jersey I just don’t see to mutch creativey at all here.
Not bad. Nice boring comment for you Albert. Lol.
Some nice touches in there. Especially the monuments on the back and the taxation representation bit. Pity the monuments and the jock tag won’t be present on the replica version.
