Argentine club Gimnasia de la Plata (Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata) have unveiled the first ever reversible soccer jersey in the nation’s domestic football history. Gimnasia’s new reversible football shirt is a kit to celebrate their 125th anniversary( the club was formed in 1887). Kit designers Penalty have marked this kit as a “Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde” football strip, using R.L. Stevenson’s famous fictional characters to reflect the two different sides of the jersey.
Reversible football shirts are not unique in European football, with Olympique Marseille themselves having a similar kit for the 2012/13 season.
