Aston Villa will be wearing their blue third kit when they square off against Brentford later today afternoon. The game is Villa’s first one of the New Year, and they will be aiming to break their losing streak in this third shirt- the previous two Premier League games played in it this season (v Arsenal in October 2021 and v Southampton in November 2021) both ended in defeats for the Villans.
However both the Arsenal and Southampton games were under Dean Smith, meaning that is Villa’s first league game in the third kit under new manager Steven Gerrard.
Spurs were also in their third strip ( a purple and green number) yesterday against Watford and won 1-0. Interestingly, all three league games yesterday went the way of the away side, with Man City and West Ham also triumphing against Arsenal and Crystal Palace respectively.
Previous Villa games in Premier League this season in blue third kit
Arsenal 3-1 Aston Villa
Southampton 1-0 Aston Villa
Make that three defeats in 3 games with Brentford 2-1 Villa today afternoon.
Looks like a kit that AVFC should avoid 😛
