This is the new Barca kit 16/17, FC Barcelona’s new home strip for the upcoming 2016/2017 La Liga season. Made by Nike, the new uniform was officially unveiled by the Spanish champions on 30 May, 2016. The shirt features thinner tonal stripes and pays tribute to the kit worn by the Blaugrana team that won their maiden European Cup title at Wembley in 1992 against Sampdoria. Ronald Koeman netted the winner for FCB that evening.
Barca recently inked an extension to their contract with Nike. Originally due to expire in 2018 , it is now expected to run till 2026 and is reportedly worth £120m a year.
On the back, the word “Barca” is knit into the jersey. The Senyera (Catalan flag) also appears on the back while “Un Crit” and “Valent” are present inside the right and left cuffs respectively.
Blue shorts and socks complete the new Barca kit, with the option of wearing red socks also available to the club.
The likes of Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique, Neymar, Suarez and Iniesta are seen modelling the new Barca 16/17 strip.
