These are the new Socceroos shirts 2016/2017, the Australian national football team’s new uniforms for their forthcoming international fixtures. Made by Nike and officially unveiled at Henley beach, the new Socceroos kit will make its debut against Tajikistan later this week.
The new Socceroos home kit features gold shirts and socks, paired with green socks. The jersey features a graphic, that according to the marketing folks at Nike, has been inspired by the iconic Wave Rock in WA. The likes of Mile Jedinak, Mat Leckie and Aaron Mooy were present at the new kit reveal.
The alternate kit, an obsidian blue creation from the Nike stable, celebrates the country’s surf culture.
The Matildas (Australia women’s team) will also have the same uniforms when they compete at the Olympics in Rio later this year
The Socceroos also have a new sponsor in the form of fuel giant Caltex, who have inked a four year deal with Football Federation Australia. The team’s last partnership with Qantas ended three years ago in 2013.
Hmm… not so good. I like the socks though, we should stick with that.
Not a fan of them. The home kit needs green shorts and white socks and the away one needs blue socks. I would give the home kit 3 out of 10 and the away 5 out of 10.
Horrible, Look like amature team kits. Socks look out of place.
