Argentine outfit Club Atletico Independiente have today (January 14, 2016) officially unveiled their new alternate jersey for the 2016 season. Made by Puma, the new dark away kit features a striking diagonal sash design which employs different shades of the colour blue. Both the collar and the cuffs are white, with the Puma logo also in the same colour
Independiente finished 5th in Argentina in the 2015 Premier Division, just three points behind Racing. They qualified for the Liguilla Pre-Libertadore and thumped Belgrano 4-1 to set up a clash with Racing for a Libertadores group stage spot. However the Avellaneda outfit prevailed 3-2 on aggregate, despite Independiente’s best efforts in the second leg, and qualified at the expense of the latter.
Independiente have been with Puma since 2009. Their relationship with sponsors OCA is more recent though, with the latter beginning to appear on the front of the jersey only in 2014.
