This is the new Caen kit 15/16, Stade Malherbe Caen’s new home uniform for the upcoming Ligue 1 season. Made by Nike, the strip was officially unveiled on June 15, 2015.
Caen’s new kit has seen a radical switch from red and blue stripes to an almost exclusively blue shirt with thin red pinstripes. The change has angered supporters, who have angrily reacted saying “We’re a red team and blue not blue with a red line” (taken from French). They’ve also directed some of their anger towards Nike, saying that the manufacturer “had made fun” of their club.
Caen have been flirting with relegation over the past few seasons, constantly moving between Ligue 2 and Ligue 1.
The shirt is paired with red shorts and socks.Caen’s 2014/15 home shirt is also shown in the pics below.
No sponsors on the jersey (yet!).
Don’t know why they’re complaining, that kit’s farking gorgeous.
They’re complaining because it’s evident that Nike don’t care about smaller clubs’ heritage
