A picture of what is reportedly Chile’s new Nike jersey has appeared on social media. Chile were outfitted by Puma at last year’s World Cup, but owing to differences between the national federation and the German manufacturer, La Roja have ended their deal with Puma and have inked a new deal with Nike which is expected to continue till the 2018 World Cup.
This jersey is expected to be worn by the likes of Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal), Mauricio Isla and Eduardo Vargas (QPR) and Arturo Vidal (Juventus) when they step on the field for Chile later this year.
However Chile will still wear Puma kits at this year’s Copa America tournament, as the deal with Nike only kicks in later.
The Nike Chile kit deal is worth more than twice the previous deal with Puma, allegedly at $7m a year compared to the $3m a year the Puma contract was worth.
