This is the new Manchester United home kit 2019/20, MUFC’s new home strip for the 19/20 Premier League season. Made by Adidas, the new Man United jersey was officially unveiled on 16 May, 2019 by the Red Devils.
The new kit pays homage to United’s famous treble winning year of 1999, when they won the Premier League, FA Cup and the Champions League. The timing of the two extra time goals from Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that saw them come from behind to clinch victory over Bayern Munich (90+1 and 90+3) are seen on the sleeves of the jersey. At the bottom are the words “Treble Winners” and the venue and date of their famous UCL triumph (26 May, 1999 in Barcelona).
The jersey also features a commemorative crest, inspired by the shield worn by that treble winning team.
David de Gea will wear a purple jersey in goal- a colour that’s a throwback to Peter Schemichel’s uniform in the 1998/99 season. Continue reading
