New Portugal World Cup Kit 2014- Portugal Centenary Jersey 2014-2015

This is the new Portugal home kit 2014/15, Portugal’s new home shirt for the 2014 World Cup and the rest of the 14/15 season. Made by Nike, the kit was officially unveiled on 4 March, 2014. The likes of Cristano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) and Raul Meireles (former Liverpool and Chelsea) will be wearing this jersey at WC 2014.

The jersey celebrates 100 years of the Portuguese FA, as can be seen from the photo of the crest.

The inside of the back of the neck contains the Armillary Sphere, which Portuguese explorers of the past used as a navigational tool.

    Look at Meireles’ beard!

Not personally a fan of the increasing stripe width as you go to the bottom, I feel it looks tacky. But some of the detailing is quite nice.

This could have went pear-shaped, but instead Nike have produced a masterpiece. This is how to do two-tone red.

In my opinion this is possibly Portugal’s best ever kit. I’d like to see it with green shorts too.

I think they kit would look nice with green shorts, now this kit is too similar to the Spain all red kit

Yet again, another country ditches the tradtional colour of their shorts.

Portugal have gone all red, Spain have gone all red, Germany have gone all white, Argentina have gone to white shorts, England dabbled with all white a couple of times…

I’m not sure I like it. Is their anything in the conspiracy theory that it’s something to do with looking better on HD TV?

The rumour goes that FIFA don’t want the teams be mixed up (or get people mistaken) on crappy tv’s in certain parts of the world. Like you said. Don’t know if that’s true.

Portugal already have all red kits for a few years.

Holland changed their shorts from white to black, to orange and now back to white again.

Shame Germany turned to all white, they look more cool and aggressive with black.
I like the light blue with white shorts on Argentina though.

not a bad effort from Nike but it feels a bit cheap or kind of like a training top! i think if they blurred or faded the two tone red together it might have worked better

you should know better than to say idiotic things, the green shorts are recent in Portugal, they were introduced in the 1980’s. Regarding Argentina, they’ve played with white shorts several world cups since very long ago. If you don’t know, don’t say wrong things. Portugeuese shorts should be white, like they were until 1980@ñññ
