New Birmingham City Away Kit 11-12 Xtep

This is a first look at the new Birmingham away kit 11/12, manufactured by Chinese company Xtep. Blues will wear this away strip in their games on the road during the 2011/2012 Championship season.

Birmingham competed in the Premier League last season and also won the Carling Cup, but a poor late run of form saw the Midlands outfit get relegated to the Championship.

The new Birmingham away kit 11/12 was officially released on July 1, 2011 but the club were releasing snippets and teasers of the top in the lead up to the launch. The away shirt 11/12 contains alternating blue and black stripes and has a white collar. Birmingham have not yet zeroed upon a shirt sponsor, so this photo of the strip doesn’t contain a sponsor. The shorts accompanying the new BCFC away shirt are black with blue trim, as you can see from the kit photo below.

However Birmingham haven’t used this away strip during the 11/12 season, with the club’s manager Chris Hougton preferring them to use the third kit.

Maybe Houghton should just stick to managing and not bother about the strips worn on the pitch
