New Southampton Kit 11-12 Release Date Announced

Southampton FC have now officially unveiled their new 11/12 season home kit. The new Saints home kit 2011/2012 was due for an unveiling on Wednesday, 20th July, 2011, with the club accepting pre-orders for the kit prior to the official release. The club have said that they hope this season’s home kit surpasses the popularity of last season’s 125th anniversary strip.

The 11/12 Southampton home kit sees a return to stripes. It has been made by Umbro and is part of the kit makers’ “Tailored by Umbro” range. The club did not play in their traditional red and white striped creation last season, but their 125th anniversary strip was the fastest selling jersey in the club’s history.

The new red and white striped Southampton home kit 11/12 is accompanied by black shorts and white socks. Aap3 are the sponsors of the new Saints 2011/2012 home shirt.

The new Southampton home strip will be worn for the first time in the forthcoming Markus Liebherr Memorial Cup.

Southampton’s 2011-2012 away kit will be revealed on Saturday, July 23, 2011.

    Hello,

Just want to say as a die hard Southampton fan that I dont understand why they are leaving the Release Date so late, as a fan we want to be able to buy our Teams new colours at the earliest oppertunity to show them off, not 2 weeks before the season starts. For all the younger fans that have to save, surely its best releasing it early before they have to pay out for match tickets.

And lastly how much money will Southampton FC itself be missing out on not releasing it.

Logical point, but it’s something that the bosses at Southampton and Umbro haven’t realised yet.

Most of the Umbro teams have got their kits out at this point of the season( especially those in the prem)-..City have an away kit out, Sunderland have both home and away strips released, both Nottingham Forest home and away tops have been unveiled. Ditto for Hearts & Rangers in the SPL, Lille, Huddersfield and several other clubs on Umbro.

Maybe Umbro are waiting to bring out the “Best Team in the World” kit after everybody else?? lol
People may disagree with this but I really like the plain white kit with the red sash. I know we are known for the stripes but there was just something very smart about last seasons kit. Every time my boy wears his shirt it fills me with pride. Premiership here we come!!

Who cares what kit you have, it might as well be plain with a big L for loosers as your sponcers. Looking forward to rubbing your faces, or shirts, in the dirt yet again, a couple more 4-1 wins for us and 6 easy easy points! back to the gutter scum!!

Ha. Not another dirty skate. Tell tell sign that you’re a skate there, is the fact that you have difficulty spelling a simple word like ‘sponsor’. But, of course, Skates know nothing about academical skills anyway! Silly me, eh?

You have to remember, southampton fc can do what they please. They dont need an early general sale of their shirts for income, they have more than enough spare cash laying about so why not? Also they had to wait on the new sponsorship deal to go through im sure before revealing anything, i really hope they keep last seasons kit in mind, its one of the nicest kits all season apart from the away kit, it was rubbish!!

Haha, excellent example of a Pompey fan. Exactly why I’m glad I follow Saints. Do you have 11 players yet? Looser than what? Sheesh.

Can’t believe you guys have the nerve to call anyone scum after your fraud of recent years. What does a 4-1 win mean with players you didn’t own, never paid for and obtained fraudulently? I couldn’t give a toss if we beat you, rivalry isn’t as issue anymore. It’s a defeat for football even having your club start the season in the professional game.

You leave schools and charities unpaid, make fools of the taxpayers, treat your own employees like trash, let any owners in and give two fingers to all the creditors by paying huge wages again and again. Small businessmen, some of them former fans of your club have to watch you give new players 20k a week while the money you owe them gets written off, delayed and ignored.

Yet some of your less intelligent fans still can’t see it, or worse still can’t bring themselves to condemn it. Utter, utter scum and the sooner you’re out the game the better. Really hope Reading, Brighton or Bournemouth can become proper rivals as we don’t have any others anymore.

Well said Ade! Plus we outplayed Portsmouth for 90% of that match!

Must say I love this new kit! Tradtional Red & White stripes with a modern twist.

  10. Chris

Hi i loved last years kit, so different to anything else, but for the traditional people we must have stripes, why though do we release it so late, I don’t know. Pompey hate us as they are jealous if our great team and it’s history, which by far beats a couple o 4-1 victories which did not reflect the game. When we get promoted who will have the last laugh. To quote Cher loyd

” Hater kiss kiss I’ll see u later!”
