These are the new Melbourne City shirts 15/16, Australian club Melbourne City FC’s new home and away kits for the upcoming A-League season. The strips have been made by Nike. The club were formerly Melbourne Heart before being bought out by the City Football Group, the same company that owns Manchester City in the Premier League.
Melbourne Victory finished 5th in the 2014/15 A-League season, thus earning a spot in the finals series. They crossed the Tasman to beat the Phoenix in Wellington, but lost their semifinal tie eventual winners Melbourne Victory at the Etihad Stadium in front of a 50,000 + strong crowd.
The home kit is in the club’s new colours of white and sky blue, with red and white chosen for the away strip as a nod to the club’s past as Melbourne Heart. Etihad Airways are principal sponsors of both MCFC A-League shirts for 2015/16.
