This is the new Man City away shirt 22/23, reigning Premier League champions Manchester City’s new alternate strip for the upcoming season. Made by Puma, the new MCFC away shirt was officially unveiled on 19 July, 2022 and will be worn by the club’s players for the first time when they square off against Club America in a pre-season friendly.
The shirt features red and black diagonal stripes- a nod to the 1969 one as well as the three rivers on the City club crest (Irwell, the Irk and the Medlock). The reverse of the shirt doesn’t feature the stripes- it’s plain back in colour, with options for gold lettering (City font) and white (Premier League font).
The jersey will be paired with predominantly black shorts and socks.
20 July, 1969 was the day when man first landed on the moon, and City, to commemorate the occasion, launched the kit at the NASA Space Center in Houston. As mentioned above, City will also be debuting this kit on the 20th
