people really seem to have forgotten that the classic england colours are white & navy blue? plus, i’d much rather have this clean 60s/70s vibe than anything 90s inspired.

I think the general feeling on this shirt is “could have done better”
As someone who, like many others on this type of website, loves footie shirts well the good ones anyway, was a touch excited and sceptic over the rebranding of the England shirt. In my personal opinion the past two home shirts have been lame ducks. More so the one with all the multi coloured crosses all over it.
This shirt reeks of no effort, it’s inoffensive and pushes no boundaries. I guess the old argument is there about “well what do you expect out of a white shirt?” But you know, it’s kinda, surely what the design team are there for. The less said about the Goalkeepers template the better. Since Nike would have had a good idea that they were going to get this deal with England for a good while knowing their stake they had with Umbro would pretty much guarantee it, it’s almost like they’ve kind of just let the release date sneak up on them and take them by surprise.
Having said that, given the life expectancy of kits these days, why throw their best efforts into a kit that probably won’t make the worlds showcase next year. It’s almost guaranteed that there will be a new home shirt for Brazil. It’s alright so when it goes for a tenner in a Mike Ashley owned unnamed store I’ll probably acquired it but there is no way I’m paying top dollar (an RRP of 60 quid in un/said shop) for something that each and every one of us could have designed.
To Nike, please next time try harder… Or just, you know… Actually try.
