New Chelsea Home Jersey 2016-17- Adidas CFC Kit 16-17 Revealed

This is the new Chelsea home kit 2016/2017, Chelsea FC’s new principal uniform for the upcoming Premier League season. Made by Adidas, the new CFC 16/17 home shirt was officially unveiled on May 4, 2016 (also the birthday of Blues star Cesc Fabregas)

Chelsea are the second Premiership outfit to reveal their 16/17 uniform after Sunderland, who unveiled their new strip last week.

Chelsea had a poor 2015/16 season as they failed to defend the trophy they won in 2014/15. They also parted ways with coach Jose Mourinho and appointed Guus Hiddink as caretaker manager. Hiddink will however not be in charge in 2016/17, with Italian coach Antonio Conte set to take over the reigns at Stamford Bridge

However it was Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Spurs at Stamford Bridge on Monday that handed Leicester City the title.

The kits have been sponsored by Yokohama Tyres and are available in two versions for supporters to purchase.

The jersey is predominantly blue, as you’d expect, with the lion from the club crest also appearing on the front.

The idea behind it is good, but the implementation is bad. They look like pyjamas.

Also, kit launch very low key in comparison to how some of the other biggies are doing it these days.

I must say, it actually looks ok. Not much you can do with plain blue when you are committed to having the three stripes for Adidas, hence the stripes down the side of the body which is the Adidas trend at the moment. However, pleasantly surprised by the socks which do NOT have the three stripes ! Quite unusual in that respect ! Sadly , the very image which Adidas have (three stripes) is also the thing that limits their creativity.

Looks kinda like a 90’s kit with the lions on the shirt. Also, It’s weird to see and Adidas shirt without the 3 stripes on the shoulders

I don’t know what it is about this kit but it just doesnt seem right, maybe it’s the collar, it looks a bit weird. However do like that it’s something new, love the watermarks.
Weren’t they going to take the “Tyres” out from the sponsorship?

Just seen the new Marseille kits and the away one is the almost identical template. I said in an earlier post:
“However, pleasantly surprised by the socks which do NOT have the three stripes ! Quite unusual in that respect ! ”
I’ve only just noticed that there are 3 stripes at the top of the sock running vertical, you will just see them inside his left knee ! It looks as if he has in fact got his socks on the wrong way round because presumably , those stripes are designed to be on the outside of the sock where they can be seen !

    Hilarious !
