New PSV Heritage Jersey 2016- Last Special PSV Eindhoven Kit with Philips as sponsor

Philips is a name that’s pretty synonymous with PSV Eindhoven. The club’s home ground is called the Philips Stadium and the shirts have featured the Philips logo for over three decades. This 2015/16 season will however be Philips’ last as PSV’s jersey sponsors and to honour their long standing partners, the club have revealed a special edition kit that they will wear in the final games of the Eredivisie season. It carries the tagline “Proud of you”

The shirt’s design is inspired by the kit worn in 1982, the first year when the Philips logo appeared on PSV’s shirts.

The red shirt, with white trim, paired with white shorts and red socks, has been made by Umbro.

PSV, if you recollect, also did something similar when their long standing partnership with Nike ended and they chose to ink a new deal with Umbro.

At the time of writing, PSV are two points behind Ajax Amsterdam with five games to play in the Eredivisie.

Pity it’s the last shirt with Philips as sponsor. Philips has been ever synonymous with PSV Eindhoven – one of those few logos that benefits the shirt – and anything else is just going to look…weird.
