These are the new Iceland 2016/17 kits, the uniforms that the Icelandic national football team will wear during the 16/17 football season and at the European Championships in France later this summer.
The strips have been made by Errea, who have been a long time partner of the KSI, and were officially revealed on March 1, 2016 in both Italy and Iceland.
The country will be the only nation to be sponsored by an Italian firm at the Championships, with the rest mostly having their uniforms made by the big triumvirate of Adidas, Nike and Puma
The kits take inspiration from the Iceland flag. The home shirt is predominantly sky blue, with the other colours on the national flag- red and white, present in a stripe design that runs through the badge. Inside the back of the neck are the words “Fyrir Iceland” (For Iceland), a stirring message for the players as they step on to the pitch to represent their country. Iceland will be making their first ever continental tournament appearance at Euro 2016, and the players will be keen to make their presence felt in France.
On the upper back of the shirt is the Icelandic flag.
The home shirt will be paired with blue shorts and socks. The primary away/alternate shirt will be white, again to be paired with white shorts and socks.
Errea also unveiled two other jerseys at the official launch- one black and the other green (goalie tops)
