This is the new NYCFC away jersey 2016, New York City FC’s new alternate strip for the upcoming Major League Soccer sesason. Kit makers Adidas have gone for a bold look for this new away kit, which was officially unveiled in the second week of February 2016. Famous players plying their trade for the club currently include former Barcelona and Valencia forward David Villa, Chelsea medio Frank Lampard and Italian legend Andrea Pirlo.

The shirt features a dark blue base, darker than the colour on the club’s home shirt, and features a ripple pattern that draws inspiration from the boundless energy that New York city possesses. At the centre of this design is the club crest.

Inside the back of the neck are the words “This City never sleeps” and “This is your city. This is your club”

New York City this season will be coached by former Arsenal star Patrick Vieira, who will aim to go one better than Jason Kreis and get his side into the playoffs this season

The strip, sponsored by Etihad Airways will make its debut in March when City take on Chicago Fire

Nice to see a genuinely original design. Wish we could see more of this in England.
